How the machine picks
It first keeps the games that match your settings (mood, length, players, platform, style). It then ranks them by quality: critic score (Metacritic or IGDB) and player reviews, smoothed so a handful of votes can’t beat thousands of reviews. Finally, it draws among the top 30, favouring the best rated: two identical pulls rarely give the same game, but never a bad one.
Capsule colours
The capsule announces the critic score before it opens: red for a good game, blue from 89/100 (highly rated), purple from 94 (must-play), gold from 97 (masterpiece).
Where the data comes from
The 9,310-game catalogue is built from IGDB and RAWG, then checked against Steam: free-to-play status, game modes (solo, co-op, split screen), player-ranked tags and reviews. Fan games, DLCs and duplicate re-releases are removed. Lengths are averages reported by players.
Prices and store links
Prices come from Steam and partner resellers, checked daily; the Deals page only shows real discounts. Some links are affiliate links: if you buy through Game Picker, the site earns a small commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes which game is pulled.
